Full-Time Diesel Technician

Full-Time Position
Salary: $15.00 to $25.00 /hour

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle repair
  • Removes, cleans, repairs, reinstalls and adjusts all vehicle components
  • Properly use and complete work orders
  • Select appropriate action for all vehicle repairs during the diagnostic process
  • Maintain assigned work areas in a safe and clean manner
  • Evaluates completed work and conducts final inspections prior to release.
  • Participation in all on going manufacturer training

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record
  • Must have the ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring and other manufacturer documents
  • Must be goal oriented
  • Ford or GM manufacturer experience
  • ASE or Manufacturers certification preferred
  • Prior Diesel experience required
  • Professional attitude and capable of working with customers
  • Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of diesel engines as well as gasoline engines

Hours
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30p.m.
Every 3rd Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

Full-Time Lube Technician

Job Title: Full-time Lube Technician
Department: Service
Supervisor: Service Managers and the Fixed Operations Director

Positison Infromation

The Lube Technician will perform basic maintenance on all types of vehicles and trucks, to ensure efficient operation, working within dealership and factory quality and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will also perform multi point safety inspections
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Note additional work needed and provide cost estimate
  • Keep supplies stocked
  • Attend training and shop meetings
  • Display a commitment to customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Some previous lube technician/mechanical experience
  • Must be organized and able to work unsupervised
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Must have knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance, including warranty guidelines
  • Ability to operate power tools, hand tools and other equipment
  • Provide own tool box and tools
  • Desire to work and learn
  • Must have a valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Hours

Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Every 3rd Saturday 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Working Conditions
This position requires working in the Service area and will be exposed to all weather conditions. This is a physically demanding position requiring a full range of motion. This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping and being in and out of vehicles for six to eight hours per shift. The candidate will be lifting parts weighing up to 70 pounds. In this position the candidate will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

Full-Time Alignment Technician

Supervisor: Service Manager

Responsibilities

  • Candidate must be able to drive a customer's vehicle onto the alignment machine
  • Adequately secure the vehicle prior to performing any alignment
  • Once completed must re-secure all related parts and remove vehicle off alignment machine safety
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Note additional work needed
  • Keep supplies stocked
  • Attend training and shop meetings

Qualifications

  • Some experience with an automotive manufacturer preferred
  • Some automotive experience preferable
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be organized and able to work unsupervised

Full-Time Service Technician

  • Determine work requested on repair orders
  • Perform repairs and document them
  • Road test vehicles to quality check
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer and dealership standards
  • Operate and test equipment, hoist and hand tools
  • Maintain a clean work area by OSHA and dealership service safety standards

Qualifications

  • Some experience with an automotive manufacturer preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • ASE Certification preferred 
  • Diesel experience, a plus
  • General mechanical skills with knowledge of all aspects of automobile repair and maintenance
  • Good judgement, ability to operate power and hand tools
